Re-cycl<strong>in</strong>g reliable<br />
VSL launch<strong>in</strong>g equipment<br />
For this project, VSL used a new span by span overheadlaunch<strong>in</strong>g<br />
gantry. The ma<strong>in</strong> two trusses of the equipment<br />
were made with <strong>on</strong>e pair of beams which formed part of<br />
the under-slung gantries that were previously used <strong>on</strong> the<br />
West Rail and East Rail projects <strong>in</strong> H<strong>on</strong>g K<strong>on</strong>g. A lower<br />
cross beam and upper cross beam mounted with<br />
a 90t w<strong>in</strong>ch, plus other brac<strong>in</strong>gs and<br />
comp<strong>on</strong>ents were added to create a<br />
very stable and robust gantry.<br />
