Yukl, Who Received the Network <strong>of</strong><br />
Leadership Scholars ‘Eminent Leadership<br />
Scholar Award’ for 2011 In receiving<br />
this prestigious award. Dr. Yukl joins an<br />
illustrious group <strong>of</strong> past winners including<br />
Bernard Bass (Binghamton), Robert<br />
House (Wharton), and Edwin Fleishman<br />
(Yale and George Mason). Pr<strong>of</strong>essor<br />
Yukl received his award <strong>at</strong> a special<br />
ceremony <strong>at</strong> the Academy <strong>of</strong> Management<br />
Meetings in San Antonio in August,<br />
where he delivered a lecture outlining<br />
his numerous seminal contributions to<br />
the fi eld <strong>of</strong> leadership. Many <strong>of</strong> Gary’s<br />
current and former students, along with<br />
his colleagues (including Dean Siegel<br />
and his Department Chair, Pr<strong>of</strong>essor<br />
Janet Marler), <strong>at</strong>tended this event. Such<br />
accolades are nothing new for Gary,<br />
who is one <strong>of</strong> the few academics in the<br />
world who is a Fellow <strong>of</strong> the American<br />
Psychological Associ<strong>at</strong>ion, the American<br />
Psychological Society, the Society for<br />
Industrial-Organiz<strong>at</strong>ional Psychology,<br />
and the Academy <strong>of</strong> Management. Not<br />
one to rest on his laurels, Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Yukl<br />
also co-authored three articles in recent<br />
months: “Human Capital, Effi ciency,<br />
and Innov<strong>at</strong>ive Adapt<strong>at</strong>ion as Str<strong>at</strong>egic<br />
Determinants <strong>of</strong> Firm Performance” and<br />
“Using Coaching to Enhance the Effects<br />
<strong>of</strong> Behavioral Feedback to Managers,”<br />
which both appeared in the Journal <strong>of</strong><br />
