You will be informed in due course about the logistics of the various evaluations. For all evaluations, questionnaires are used, with a series of closed and open questions. Phrase your answers clearly and in a constructive manner towards concrete, achievable improvement. Be specific, make suggestions and don’t forget to indicate what is going well! External Education You can take courses for credit at Leiden University, or at another university in the Netherlands or abroad. This is usually only possible from your second year onwards, as you should use your first year to explore your intellectual interests within the LUC curriculum. Information on courses at Leiden University can be found in the e-Prospectus at Leiden University; other universities have similar catalogues on their websites. The courses offered by the Honours College at Leiden University are especially interesting to explore, but note that no more than 30EC gained from external courses can count towards the 180EC necessary for graduation from LUC. If you are considering an external course offering, first discuss this with your tutor to evaluate the fit of this course with your overall academic trajectory and time-table at LUC. Once you have determined that the external course is indeed suitable for your enrolment, file a request for external education with the LUC Examinations Committee by e-mailing excie@luc.leidenuniv.nl, cc’ing your tutor. Once you have permission from the Examinations Committee, you can proceed to register for the course. Please note that it is possible that the host programme will have to approve as well! If you would like to take a course at a different university, you may be asked to provide proof of registration at Leiden University. You can request this proof from the Student Information Desk or by e-mailing studentaffairs@luc.leidenuniv.nl. If you are considering a semester abroad, check the eligibility criteria, application guidelines, and submission deadlines on the LUC website for the semester abroad programme, and discuss possibilities with your tutor in good time. Logistical questions can be directed to the LUC Study Abroad and Student Exchange Officer, Irene van der Wal, either in person at the Student Affairs Office or via e-mail at studyabroad@luc.leidenuniv.nl. 50 orgaNisaTioN aND ProCeDUres aCademiC faCiLities and serviCes Libraries Leiden University Library (UbL) With your Student Card you have access to the Leiden University Library (UBL).
