Chemistry at Work. Brenda Shapiroo & Stan Shapiro. (1989). Copp Clark Pitman. ISBN 0773047301 Doesn't cover all the objectives in our Level III chemistry courses at a high enough level to be used as the main text, but has a great "hands-on" approach with lots of activities and creative or practical examples. A good teacher's resource, or good text for students taking chemistry for general interest. Chemistry Today 1. R.L. Whitman, E.E. Zinck, R.A. Nalepa. (1988). Prentice Hall. Can be used for all Level III chemistry courses. Lab manual available. Conceptual Physics. Paul G. Hewitt. (1992). Addison-Wesley. ISBN 0-201-28651-3 Covers physics conceptually rather than mathematically, with equations often written in words as "guides to thinking" rather than "recipes for algebraic problem-solving". Does not quite cover all our objectives; however, it would be a good approach for someone who would like to do physics, but has trouble with math. Teacher's edition, teaching guide, tests, concept exercises, worksheets, lab manual, and video lessons are available. Earth Science (Canadian Edition). Samuel N. Namowitz and Nancy E. Spaulding. (1987). D.C. Heath and Company. ISBN: 0-669-95294-X Covers most of the objectives for S 3212 Earth Science, excluding the section on Newfoundland and Labrador Geology. Smaller text which does not cover our objectives as well as the recommended text and doesn't go into as much detail. Energy. Edward Fogden. Copp Clark Pitman. ISBN 07487-0209-1.
