There is no limit on the number of repeaters in the network, but the maximum number of repeaters which can be placed one after the other in the circuit is two, i.e. the maximum distance between the master and the last slave is 300 m. If safe slaves are used only one repeater can be inserted between the master or monitor and a safe slave. The repeater also provides galvanic isolation between the networks. Therefore it is always necessary to incorporate an additional AS-Interface power pack or a power extender after the repeater.
