The design of this module makes it particularly suitable for operation within a junction box. Its housing, only 39 mm thick, occupies little space in an installation. The VAA-4A-K3-R is installed by snapping it onto the 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. Screw terminals are available for connecting the outputs and the AS-Interface cable. These permit the connection of conductors of up to 2.5 mm 2 . Each output is switched via a relay, which can be loaded to 24 V DC and 0.5 A. The actuators connected to the module are supplied externally (see connection diagram). The module itself is supplied through the AS-Interface cable. The AS-Interface supply voltage is indicated by a green LED. The current switching state of each output is indicated by a yellow LED, located on the unit's front panel. Should there be an interruption to bus communications (e. g. failure of the master), the outputs maintain their current switch status while power is supplied. For address configuration before or after installation, a programming jack is integrated into the unit. It permits a connection to the hand-held programming device.
