Sailing Group Tuition
We offer a fully inclusive dinghy sailing
tuition programme six days a week for all
ages and abilities. Upon arrival just sign
up for the tuition sessions you wish to do,
our qualified staff can advise you of the
correct group for your ability. All tuition
follows the Royal Yachting Association
teaching schemes so you can progress in
a fast, safe and fun environment.
Beginner
For those who are new to dinghy sailing,
we can teach you the basics to get you
on the water in light winds sailing solo.
The sessions will cover rigging and
de-rigging of equipment, launching and
landing, turning around, sailing in all
directions plus theory.
Intermediate
If you have some sailing experience and
can sail around a triangular course the
intermediate tuition will focus on
refreshing and speeding up everything
already learnt in a number of clinics which
follow RYA Basic Skills Level 2 and for
higher level intermediates tuition will
follow the RYA Better Sailing Level 3 with
focus on sailing comfortably in moderate
winds.
Dinghy Sailing
We always include Royal Yachting Association (RYA) tuition and courses in the
cost of your holiday, whether you are a first timer aiming for your Level 1
certificate, or an expert working on your performance sailing.
Courses vary from centre to centre.
RYA Courses
Royal Yachting Association (RYA)
Courses are included free of charge for
anyone wishing to gain qualifications or
start on the pathway of the National
Sailing Scheme. Logbooks can be
purchased in resort and certificates are
awarded upon successful completion of
a course. The following courses are
available to all guests over 14 years of
age.
Start Sailing – Level 1
Completed over 12 hours, this short
introduction for complete beginners
gives a basic understanding of sailing
skills and techniques including how to
sail in all directions plus the relevant
theory. It is designed to get you on the
water using modern, single-handed
dinghies and requires no previous
experience. By the end of the course
you will be able to take a boat out in
light winds by yourself.
Basic Skills – Level 2
Basic skills aims to fine-tune the skills
learnt from level 1 and turn you into a
competent light wind dinghy sailor. Over
a period of 12 hours you will cover wind
awareness, rigging, sailing theory,
capsize recovery and essential safety
knowledge.
Advanced

would like to attain just speak to one of our
instructors in resort (this is available on
request and subject to availability).
Free Sailing
There is also the option to enjoy some free
sailing during beach opening hours, just
come down to the beach and our friendly
staff will be on hand, to help you get out
onto the water. The beach is open every day
from 09.30 until the last guest comes of the
water and we also remain open over
lunchtime. Use of equipment and all tuition
is included in the cost of your holiday.
Private Tuition
Small group and one on one lessons can be
booked once in resort, this is a great way to
master a particular skill under the watchful
eye of our expert instructors. Private
lessons cost from £35 for 1 hour, just speak
to the beach manager during your stay and
they will make the necessary arrangements.
Premium Sailing package
For those who want to sail high
performance dinghies we have the premium
package, craft included in the package are
the RS100, RS700, RS800 and the Hobie
16. We also provide experienced, dedicated
staff to assist you in rigging and de-rigging,
launching and landing and to help with top
tip’s for a great week of sailing. Availability is
limited to just six spaces and the boats are
reserved for premium package users only.
The Premium Sailing Package is priced from
£250 per week.
