<strong>of</strong> architecture with<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> UAE, will reveal <strong>the</strong> absence <strong>of</strong> any locally<br />
<strong>in</strong>itiated academic programme. In fact <strong>the</strong> academic programme<br />
practiced <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> UAE is orig<strong>in</strong>ated from neighbour<strong>in</strong>g Arabic countries<br />
. 146,147<br />
who <strong>the</strong>mselves deny its success<br />
This situation is not appropriate <strong>for</strong> а country which ambitiously<br />
deployed architecture <strong>for</strong> its iconographic qualities with<strong>in</strong> countless<br />
market<strong>in</strong>g and overseas charm <strong>of</strong>fensives. It is also not meet<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />
UAE‟s mission that it has been launched <strong>for</strong> its nationals to take <strong>the</strong> lead<br />
and participate <strong>in</strong> all <strong>the</strong> countries ambitious projects. It will be more<br />
beneficial <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> UAE if its own nationals can participate <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>in</strong>frastructure development. Architects from with<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> society are more<br />
aware <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> society‟s need. Architects success is measured when <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
build<strong>in</strong>gs connect with <strong>the</strong> aspirations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> society <strong>in</strong> general and <strong>the</strong><br />
users <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se build<strong>in</strong>gs <strong>in</strong> particular. 148 Build<strong>in</strong>gs are successful and<br />
look appropriate when <strong>the</strong>y feel correct <strong>for</strong> both visitors and users.<br />
Integrat<strong>in</strong>g skills such as creativity <strong>in</strong> architecture education will enable<br />
<strong>the</strong> future young architects to produce <strong>in</strong>novative build<strong>in</strong>gs that are<br />
related to <strong>the</strong> society <strong>in</strong> which is serv<strong>in</strong>g. Excellence <strong>in</strong> urban <strong>design</strong><br />
embraces an <strong>in</strong>tegration <strong>of</strong> quality-driven factors, but <strong>the</strong> measurement<br />
<strong>of</strong> success can be reduced to an analysis <strong>of</strong> space and <strong>the</strong> concept <strong>of</strong><br />
place. Public and semi-private spaces at <strong>the</strong> urban level <strong>in</strong> turn derive<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir character from deployment <strong>of</strong> physical elements such as land<strong>for</strong>m,<br />
circulation routes, materials, and build<strong>in</strong>gs, all <strong>of</strong> which <strong>in</strong>fluence <strong>the</strong><br />
social <strong>in</strong>teraction <strong>of</strong> users. Aga<strong>in</strong>, <strong>in</strong>tegrated architectural th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g is<br />
fundamental to <strong>the</strong> success <strong>of</strong> urban plann<strong>in</strong>g and landscape <strong>design</strong>,<br />
especially <strong>in</strong> terms <strong>of</strong> sensitivity towards <strong>the</strong> natural environment when<br />
devis<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> educational programmes <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> future; this also implies<br />
plann<strong>in</strong>g new pr<strong>of</strong>essions that must be recognised, not only by <strong>the</strong><br />
various client bodies, but especially by <strong>the</strong> UАE government.<br />
