This implies <strong>the</strong> importance that H.H. places on <strong>the</strong> idea <strong>of</strong> team-<br />

work<strong>in</strong>g and collaboration. Giv<strong>in</strong>g many examples <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> past and <strong>the</strong><br />

earlier civilisation Mohammed b<strong>in</strong> Rashid draws on his experience <strong>of</strong><br />

collaboration and team-work<strong>in</strong>g and stress<strong>in</strong>g its importance <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

progress <strong>of</strong> mank<strong>in</strong>d.<br />

3.3 Management Style <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> UAE<br />

In his book “Gods <strong>of</strong> Management” Handy 138 associate <strong>the</strong> management<br />

styles with <strong>the</strong> Greek ancient Gods. Handy attempts to identify <strong>the</strong><br />

different management styles and its characteristics. He classifies four<br />

different Gods, Zeus, Apollo, A<strong>the</strong>na and Dionysus. Handy fur<strong>the</strong>r<br />

associate a culture type to each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Gods based on <strong>the</strong> nature <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

God (see figure 3.1).<br />
