working and collaboration. Giving many examples of the past and the
earlier civilisation Mohammed bin Rashid draws on his experience of
collaboration and team-working and stressing its importance for the
progress of mankind.
3.3 Management Style in the UAE
In his book “Gods of Management” Handy 138 associate the management
styles with the Greek ancient Gods. Handy attempts to identify the
different management styles and its characteristics. He classifies four
different Gods, Zeus, Apollo, Athena and Dionysus. Handy further
associate a culture type to each of the Gods based on the nature of the
God (see figure 3.1).
