� Web Alerts and Rich Site Summary Service (RSS)<br />

Google Alert will aid <strong>the</strong> students by alert<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>m when new <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation<br />

is added onl<strong>in</strong>e on a subject <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir choice and RSS will assist <strong>the</strong><br />

students and <strong>the</strong> teachers when blogs are used, as it will also alert <strong>the</strong><br />

users <strong>of</strong> a new blog entry.<br />

� Mobile Phone<br />

The widespread use <strong>of</strong> mobile phones and especially Blackberries could<br />

be made useful by <strong>in</strong>troduc<strong>in</strong>g mobile assessment where <strong>the</strong> students<br />

could undertake <strong>the</strong>ir essay assessment on <strong>the</strong> move as has proven<br />

successful <strong>in</strong> undertak<strong>in</strong>g a storytell<strong>in</strong>g type <strong>of</strong> assessment. 333 It also<br />

could be made useful by exchang<strong>in</strong>g all <strong>for</strong>ms <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation with <strong>the</strong><br />

students. The students could set up <strong>the</strong> applications associated with<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir Blackberries to receive alerts <strong>of</strong> any update that occurs on <strong>the</strong><br />

course material.<br />

9.6 Future Research<br />

There are some areas <strong>in</strong> which fur<strong>the</strong>r research could be recommended:<br />

Security<br />

As this research utilise web tools as means <strong>for</strong> communication an<br />

important issue <strong>of</strong> security emerge. Fur<strong>the</strong>r research <strong>in</strong> protect<strong>in</strong>g<br />

students‟ <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation on <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternet as well as o<strong>the</strong>r educational<br />

materials provided <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong>m onl<strong>in</strong>e is recommended.<br />

Assessment<br />

Assess<strong>in</strong>g onl<strong>in</strong>e learn<strong>in</strong>g is an important issue <strong>for</strong> e-learn<strong>in</strong>g. It is also<br />

becom<strong>in</strong>g more complicated when collaboration and creativity is<br />

comb<strong>in</strong>ed with e-learn<strong>in</strong>g. In a collaborative work it becomes a complex<br />
