and <strong>the</strong> results.<br />

6.7 Implementation <strong>of</strong> VDS 3<br />

In this section <strong>the</strong> <strong>implementation</strong> procedure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> VDS 3 will be<br />

presented. The <strong>implementation</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> VDS 3 is classified <strong>in</strong>to four<br />

layers. These layers are: pedagogical layer, technological layer, socio-<br />

cultural layer and behavioural layer. In each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se layers different<br />

aspects <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> VDS 3 were implemented. First, <strong>the</strong> ma<strong>in</strong> concepts will<br />

be detailed with examples <strong>of</strong> application. The pedagogical issues will be<br />

expla<strong>in</strong>ed and <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>ories beh<strong>in</strong>d <strong>the</strong> VDS 3 will be highlighted.<br />

6.7.1 Structure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> VDS 3<br />

VDS 3 is a <strong>virtual</strong> environment project that facilitates <strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong> high<br />

technological applications and effective learn<strong>in</strong>g methods to enhance<br />

<strong>the</strong> student learn<strong>in</strong>g process and promote complex skills, creativity, and<br />

collaboration. The function <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> project is based on <strong>the</strong> utilisation <strong>of</strong><br />

technology as well as learn<strong>in</strong>g methods to promote creativity and<br />

collaboration among students.<br />

The project conta<strong>in</strong>ed different layers that conta<strong>in</strong> to <strong>the</strong> ma<strong>in</strong> concepts<br />

and <strong>the</strong> ground<strong>in</strong>g structure <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> project. These layers are <strong>the</strong><br />

pedagogical layer, technological layer, behavioural layer, and ѕocio-<br />

cultural layer respectively. Each layer conta<strong>in</strong>s <strong>the</strong> elements<br />

correspond<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>the</strong> concepts <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> development <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> VDS<br />
