the main effects of levels. An additional merit of this design is that one can examine the interaction<br />

between treatments and levels, through which one may say whether the treatment and levels are<br />

independent of each other or they are not so. The following examples make clear the interaction<br />

effect between treatments and levels. The data obtained in case of two (2 × 2) simple factorial<br />

studies may be as given in Fig. 3.9.<br />
