144 students from 23 different states, spanning the nation from New York to Florida to California to Alaska<br />

• 62 percent are from Kansas • One is a seventh generation Kansan • One is from South Korea, one is from<br />

China, and one is from the Virgin Islands • 66 different undergraduate schools, with the top three being the<br />

<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Kansas (31), Kansas State <strong>University</strong> (13), and Wichita State (12) • Other undergraduate schools<br />

include Duke, Fordham, George Washington, Purdue, Rice, Spelman and the U.S. Air Force Academy • State<br />

universities include Colorado, Georgia, Minnesota, North Carolina, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and<br />

Wyoming • 6 percent have post-graduate degrees • Average age is 26 years old • Various backgrounds and<br />

experiences: CASA volunteers, homecoming king, mock trial competitors, executive <strong>of</strong>fi cer in the U.S. Air<br />

Force, U.S. Army Captain, former U.S. Marine, numerous Eagle Scouts, missionaries to Chile, Russia, Hong<br />

Kong, China, and Nicaragua, newspaper reporter, member <strong>of</strong> the Organization for Women Mystery Writers,<br />

mechanical engineer, chemical engineer, pilot, teachers, social workers, and women’s rights advocates • This<br />

class golfs, hunts, fi shes, rides bikes, plays tennis, swims, and runs • Others work on cars, play guitar and<br />

drums, study medieval times, scuba dive, and s<strong>no</strong>w shoe. One spends time screenwriting/fi lmmaking.
