kroz privatizaciju
Investicioni ciklus Delta Holdinga vremenski se poklopio
sa najsnažnijim periodom privatizacije posle demokratskih
promena u Srbiji i Kompanija je u tom procesu intenzivno
učestovala. Period je obeležen nerazumevanjem jednog dela
javnosti za Deltine poslovne poteze. Neupućenima se činilo
da Kompanija neselektivno preuzima društvene firme i da
u tom širenju nema ni reda, ni sistema. Ipak, posle nekoliko
godina i široj javnosti je postalo jasno ono što je kompanija
znala od samog početka privatizacije, da su sva širenja bila
jasno usmerena na razvoj strateških poslova. Iz privatizacije
Kompanija je izašla značajno ojačana pre svega u sektoru
agrobiznisa (kupovinom imanja i obradivih zemljišta, odnosno
privatizacijom pogona prehrambene industrije), u sektoru
maloprodaje (akvizicijom domaćih maloprodajnih mreža)
i u sektoru nekretnina i maloprodaje (obezbeđivanjem
perspektivnih lokacija za maloprodajne objekte i šoping centre).

Systematic expansion
through privatization
The timing of the Delta Holding investment cycles coincided
with the period of strongest privatization after democratic
transition in Serbia. The company participated strongly in that
process. The period was also marked by a lack of
understanding on the part of the public for Delta’s business
moves. To those not in the know it seemed that the Company
acquired socially-owned companies without selection and that
the company was expanding without any order or system. Yet, a
few years later it became clear to the public what the company
had known from the very beginning of the privatization process,
that all expansions had been directed to the development of
strategic businesses. After the privatization process the company
was considerably strengthened and held first place in the agribusiness
through purchase of farms, arable land, and by the
privatization of food industry plants. In the retail sector this
had happened by the acquisition of local retail chains in the real
estate and retailing business, and by the provision of prospective
locations for retail shops and shopping centres.
