The <strong>Temple</strong> <strong>City</strong> Parks and Recreation Dept. conducted a pentathlon<br />
for middle school-age youngsters at Live Oak Park, June 4.<br />

Under the Stars will be themed<br />
as Surfin’ USA and take place<br />
from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Thursday,<br />
Aug. 18, at <strong>Temple</strong> <strong>City</strong> Park,<br />
9701 Las Tunas Drive.<br />
The highly anticipated<br />
evening of food and live music<br />
will feature food from area restaurants,<br />
catering companies<br />
and bakeries. Entertainment<br />
will be provided by Tommy<br />
Tassi performing favorites from<br />
the ’50s and ’60s.<br />
Tickets sell for $15 per person<br />
with reserved tables for<br />
groups also available. Advanced-purchase<br />
tickets are required<br />
and will be available at<br />
the Live Oak Park Annex, 10144<br />
Bogue St., beginning July 11.<br />
Tickets are limited, so don’t<br />
miss out on this sure-to-sell-out<br />
event. Restaurants, catering<br />

families to attend and hang out<br />
with friends at the annual<br />
Camp-A-Palooza, July 29-30.<br />
This year, a luau-themed<br />
evening with family games and<br />
activities is in store for lucky<br />
campers.<br />
Entertainment includes traditional<br />
hula dancing and music<br />
by the Oahu Band. In addition<br />
to family fun and entertainment,<br />
a barbecue dinner will be<br />
served, plus a continental breakfast<br />
the following morning.<br />
Just bring a tent, sleeping<br />
bags and family, and the city will<br />
take care of the rest.<br />
