In the event of urgent sickness, phone your regular doctor first. He or she may have an
after-hours number, or an answering/switching service that will direct you to an alternative
service if your doctor is not available.
To assist emergency after hours medical personnel in the event that you are unable to
communicate clearly, consider purchasing a Life Tube from Age Concern Wellington (ph
499 6646). This is a recognised means of recording and storing your important/essential
personal and medical details in a place they can be retrieved in the event of an
emergency.
