WHAT IS INTERIOR DESIGN?
Cozy and warm, demonstrative and bold. These are just a few
ways to describe the look and feel of a room or office when
designing the right environment for a client. If you’ve always
wanted to express yourself through color, patterns and textures
to create an atmosphere, then the Interior Design program
awaits you.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Our associate’s level Interior Design degree program is carefully
balanced to provide a three-dimensional understanding
of space, form, and function. In early courses, students
have the opportunity to learn the basics of drawing, drafting,
color, and design, and the fundamentals of space planning
and perspective. In later quarters, students receive training
in working drawings, detailing, life safety codes, and learn
about textiles and the history of design.
PROGRAM MISSION
The mission of the Interior Design programs is to provide
students with relevant skills preparing them for their profession
of choice. Students will be able to conceive and execute
viable and creative design solutions for diverse clients.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Communicate and document design solutions through verbal,
visual and written means.
Demonstrate the ability to articulate design through manual
and computer drawings and presentations.
Appropriately apply building codes and accessibility guidelines.
Demonstrate an ability to problem solve through the use of
design elements, including specification of products and
materials.
GRADUATES ARE PREPARED
Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level positions such as
draftsperson, assistant designer, and facilities or space planner.
The length of the program is eight (8), eleven (11) week
quarters.
