Specificity:<br />
<strong>SMI</strong> <strong>37</strong> reacts with a nonphosphorylated epitope in neurofilament H of most mammalian species. Immunocytochemically, <strong>SMI</strong><br />
<strong>37</strong> visualizes some neuronal cell bodies, dendrites and thick axons in the central and peripheral nervous systems. <strong>SMI</strong> <strong>37</strong><br />
staining is more restricted than that seen with <strong>SMI</strong> 32 or <strong>SMI</strong> 38 and Neuronal cell bodies are intensely stained while neuronal<br />
processes staining is less prominent. This IgM antibody reacts with goat antimouse IgG and mouse ClonoPAP® via the light<br />
chains common to IgG and IgM.<br />
Uses:<br />
This antibody is effective in immunoblotting (WB), immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry (IHC) and ELISA.<br />
Suggested Working Dilution:<br />
The optimal working dilution should be determined for each specific assay condition.<br />
• WB: 1:1,000<br />
• IHC: 1:1,000<br />
• ELISA: 1:1,000<br />
The extent of permissible dilution of <strong>SMI</strong> <strong>37</strong> beyond those recommended for general application depends upon nature and<br />
concentration of the antigen examined, species of the antigen, method of fixation and kind of section examined.<br />

Storage:<br />
Store at -20°C. Upon initial thawing, apportion into working<br />
aliquots and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw<br />
cycles to prevent denaturing the antibody. For long-term<br />
storage, keep the antibody at -80°C.<br />
