3.3 Pairing
Prior to using the speakerphone for the first time, it must first be paired with a
Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone. The steps below describe pairing instructions for a
typical Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone.
1. Place the speakerphone and mobile phone no more than 1 meter apart.
2. Ensure that the speakerphone is powered OFF.
3. Press and hold the “MFB” button for 6 seconds until the indicator LED starts
flashing red and blue alternately, the speakerphone is now in pairing mode.
Note: If pairing is not completed within 2 minutes of initiating the pairing process, the
pairing mode will timeout and the speakerphone will automatically power OFF.
4. Activate the Bluetooth function on your mobile phone and search for
accessible Bluetooth device by referring to your mobile phone user guide for
details.
5. Select “DSE-EA0054” from the list.
6. Enter the pre-programmed security code “5555” and press “OK” to pair the
speakerphone and the phone. Once the pairing process is completed, the
blue and red indicator LED will stop flashing and the speakerphone will go
into standby. This can be confirmed by checking the indicator LED status
which will flash blue every 3 seconds.
Note: Some mobile phones at this stage will prompt you to allow the speakerphone
to automatically make connection with the mobile phone. It is suggested that the
Bluetooth Speakerphone is allowed to automatically connect or else the user will
have to manually connect the Bluetooth Speakerphone every time it is to be used
even though the two devices have already been paired.
7. You should now be able to make and receive calls using your speakerphone.
Note: Please ensure that the phone is always within 10 meters wireless signal radius
of the speakerphone. Moving the phone any further will result in disconnection.
