The following statement shows the quantities
and value of coal mined in New South Wales in
1904:

The foregoing shows a decreased output in
1904, as compared with 1903, of 335,037 tons in
quantity and of $1,580,191 in value. The following
statement shows the quantities of coal ex­
ported from New South Wales in 1904 and the
quantities consumed in New South Wales during
the year:

The total exports show a decrease of 813,327 tons
as compared with 1903 and the home consumption
