Bessemer Coal (TS, Coke Company.
The annual meeting of the stockholders of the
Bessemer Coal & Coke Co. was held in Pittsburgh
on February 7. The following directors were
elected: C. J. Brokenshine, Cleveland; George H.
Love, Johnstown; J. C. Trask, Cleveland; E. M.
Love, Somerset; J. W. Wood, Cleveland; Dr. J. C.
Lange, L. F. Demmler' and William Steinmeyer.
Pittsburgh; Col. J. R. Branch. New York; E. H.
Baker, Cleveland, and Wilfred Johnson. New York.
The officers were re-elected as follows: C. J. Brokenshine,
president; George H. Love, vice-president;
J. C. Trask, treasurer; E. M. Love, secretary,
and J. W. Wood, general manager. It was
decided to remove the headquarters of the company
from Cleveland to Pittsburgh and a commit­
tee was appointed to secure suitable offices. The
mines of the company are located near Pittsburgh.
Their output is to be materially increased in the
near future.
Branch Offices For Civic Federation.
Branch offices of the Civic Federation are to be
established at Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Chicago,
Cincinnati. Denver, New Orleans and San Francisco.
Secretaries will be elected whose duties it
will be to make investigations of all labor difficulties
in their districts and make prompt reports to
the principal office of the organization in New
York. The details of the opening of the branch
offices will be completed at a meeting to be held
in New York early in March.
