Setup
• The first 20 characters of this name will populate the Variety display name text
box; if you want a different name, highlight what is there and type over it with a new
display name.
• Press the keyboard Tab key to add it to the list.
6. In Brand, enter the name of the company who manufactures the variety.
7. Enter the approximate number of days it takes to mature (from ___ to ___).
8. Record trait descriptions that are specific to this variety.
9. Enter what this variety costs per acre to plant.
10. If it is a Treated or GMO variety, check the appropriate box.
• If you select Treated, click Description to add details about the variety.
11. In Website, enter the URL for the website associated with the variety or company who
makes it. Once entered, you may click the Go button to navigate to it.
• Web addresses are limited to 128 characters.
12. To enter the lot or batch numbers from the bags of seed, click Lots/Batches (refer to
page 55).
13. If you are creating application plans, you will need to click Seeding (refer to page 56).
14. When finished, click Apply to save your changes and move to the next tab, or click
OK to close the Setup tabs.
Lots/Batches
Because identity preservation of crop varieties is very important, JDOffice allows you to
enter the lot number from each bag of seed that was planted. The numbers you enter here
will save to the PC Card and be visible in the GreenStar Display pick lists.
Add a new Lot/Batch number:
1. On the Variety Setup tab, select the crop to which the variety is associated.
2. In the Varieties list, select the variety for which you want to record lots/batches.
3. Click Lots/Batches.
4. On the Lots/Batches screen, click Add.
• A white text box will appear in both columns.
