Field Maps
Variable-rate application of cropping inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and
pesticides is one management approach to addressing the variability which
exists within a field.
Operation log maps are operator-controlled field documentation maps that are
created from the task choices made on the GreenStar Display. They are used
to keep field and crop records of operations which were performed in the field.
There are 22 possible log maps:
• Seeding Points - Rate Seeding Contour - Rate
• Seeding Points - Depth Seeding Contour - Depth
• Fertilizer Points - Rate Fertilizer Contour - Rate
• Fertilizer Points - Depth Fertilizer Contour - Depth
• Pesticide Points - Rate Pesticide Contour - Rate
• Pesticide Points - Depth Pesticide Contour - Depth
• Tillage Points - Depth Tillage Contour - Depth
• Other Points - Rate Other Contour - Rate
• Other Points - Depth Other Contour - Depth
• Tank Mix Points - Rate Tank Mix Contour - Rate
• Tank Mix Points - Depth Tank Mix Contour - Depth
There are 6 different operations that can be recorded in a field documentation
file: Seeding, Tillage, Product Application (Fertilizer, Pesticide, and Tank
Mixes), and Other - as defined in Operations Setup. Each of these (except
tillage) can be defined by a rate or a depth. However, if you use variable rate
drive, the defined seeding or product application rate will be overwritten with the
rate determined by the sensor.
