Field Maps
those to the left are below the mean, those to the right are above the
mean. If you have a normal dispersion of yield data in your field, 97% of
all the yield points should fall ± 3 standard deviations from the mean.
View a normalized harvest point map:
1. Click Layers .
2. Check View for a yield or moisture point layer.
• The layer must be highlighted.
3. Click Legend .
4. In Data, select Normalized.
5. In Legend, select a normalized legend.
• Click Edit to create or edit a normalized legend.
Example of normalized map data (using percentages):
If you rotated your field between corn and beans, a normalized map would
produce the following values for the two maps:
YIELD VALUE: NORMALIZED VALUE: (%)
Corn
Average 135 bu/acre (average) 100 - (100%)
Lowest yield 117 bu/acre 86.7 - (14% below average)
Highest yield 156 bu/acre 115.6 - (15% above average)
Soybeans

Lowest yield 48 bu/acre 87.3 - (13% below average)

Contour Legends: Solid or Outlined
Contour maps are a reflection of a point map and cannot be edited All contour
maps can be viewed and printed as solid or outlined. Solid contour maps are
colored maps with solid areas of color; outlined contour maps are transparent
layers of black lines that outline the edges of the solid contours. Outlined
contour maps are used as overlays on top of solid layers.
