in Farm/Field Setup will be displayed. Using the Current Farm and Current
Field drop-down boxes, you can select another field from the same farm or
from a different farm.
After selecting a field, you can right-click the mouse to see a list of commands.
Those listed are the same as you would find under the Tools>Field menu, or
by using the command buttons at the top of the screen.
Note: When you move any tool over a field map, the longitude and
latitude of that tool’s position in the field will display at the bottom
of the screen.
Most of the field maps within JDOffice can be divided into one of two
categories: point maps or contour maps.
All data is collected by the field equipment at a minimum of one-second
intervals. Point maps display this data using individual colored points which
represents a two-second interval. Contour maps average the data in the
corresponding point maps, and display the results as uniform, solid areas of
color. The shape of the contour field is dependent on the crop boundary - the
field is “cookie cut” to the shape of the boundary.
Some maps - such as yield or tillage, can be viewed as both a point or contour
map; others - such as elevation maps, can only be viewed as a contour map.
A description of each field map can be found in this chapter.
In addition to the different types of field maps, you can have multiple layers
interspersed with different years of data. For example, you can have a 1999
outlined elevation contour map layered on top of a 2002 pesticide point map.
The current processing year (as set on the Dates Preferences tab, or on the
year spinner) does not control the year of data that you are able to view on the
field map; data from any year can be viewed at any time.
