attendance of more than 686,000 fans
came to Melbourne Park for the first major
tournament of 2012 at the Australian
Open.
World No.1 Novak Djokovic faced No. 2
Rafael Nadal in the Men's final, in their
third consecutive Grand Slam finals
match.
2011 was a stellar year for Djokovic, as he
won three out of the four major
championships, and defeated Nadal in six
matches throughout the year.
On this warm Sunday night at Rod Laver
Arena, that dominance continued, but it
wouldn't be easy, as the two best players
in the world played a five-set marathon
into Monday morning in the longest Grand
Slam final in history and Djokovic would
win his third Australian Open title, 5-7, 6-4,
6-2, 6-7, 7-5.

The US Open began in 1881 as the U.S.
Championships, a relatively small event
held at The Casino in Newport, R.I. Today
it has grown into the biggest tennis
tournament in the world, with a long, rich
tradition of attracting the best players from
around the world to perform on the world's
greatest stage: the USTA Billie Jean King
National Tennis Center in New York City.
As the last major of the calendar year, the
US Open annually brings down the curtain
on the Grand Slam season with some of
the most unforgettable matches in tennis
history.
In 2006, it featured another stirring chapter
in the growing rivalry between the winners
of the last three US Open men's singles
titles - two-time defending champion
Roger Federer and 2003 champion Andy
Roddick.
The two met in the Wimbledon final in
2004 and 2005, with Federer emerging
victorious both times, and the Swiss
entered the 2006 US Open on one of the
greatest runs in the annals of the sport.
The tournament's top seed, Federer had
won seven of the past 11 Grand Slam
events and was attempting to become the
first man in tennis history to sweep the
Wimbledon and the US Open titles for
three consecutive years.
The ninth-seeded Roddick, meanwhile,
entered the final on a roll of his own.
After a desultory spring knocked him out of
the Top 10, Roddick teamed with new
coach Jimmy Connors and embarked on a
brilliant summer campaign, winning the
Olympus US Open Series title for the
second time. And buoyed by a series of
impressive wins in Flushing Meadows,
Roddick entered the final primed to derail
Federer and reclaim his US Open crown.

swirling leaves suggest to him aspects of

the rise of fascism which forced him to
leave his native Germany. Arriving in
America, Einstein often speaks out
passionately about the dangers of nuclear
power. He talks of the honor he felt being

lawyer, Raoul Felder, to help relieve him of
his civic duty. During the selection process,
Jackie is questioned by the prosecution
and the defense. Jackie is so offended by
the defense's questions, he talks his way
right onto the jury. The jury is set: people
from all walks of life: the Arabic foreman
(Nicholas Viselli), an Italian sleaze-ball
(Tony Darrow), a gay gossip columnist
(Mo Mandel), a transvestite (Frank
Anthony Polito), a country music singer
(Brandon Kinney), a 9/11 rescue worker

On trial for murdering a decorated police
veteran is Yusef (Justin P. Nardecchia), an
Arabic teenager. The judge (Mark Levin)
instructs the jury not to hurry their decision
and also not to be harassed by Jackie.
The jury is ushered into their deliberating
room by the Bailiff (Dick Capri) where they
begin their process.
Inside the jury room Jackie creates utter
chaos and takes it upon himself to
convince the otherwise "not guilty" leaning
jury that Yusef is guilty. The characters
share stories with one another about their
lives and experiences, tempers flare,
emotions run rampant, and Jackie realizes
he may have made a mistake. Jackie,
being soft-hearted as he is, takes
responsibility and tries re-convincing
everyone that Yusef is innocent. This is a
must-see DVD for all comedy lovers and
Jackie Mason fans.
