Volvo Construction Equipment Will Introduce
Its New C-Series Heavy Duty Tracked Feller
Bunchers at DEMO International 2008 in
Halifax
A live exhibition of Volvo Construction Equipment’s new C-Series
heavy-duty tracked feller bunchers at DEMO International 2008 in
Halifax, Nova Scotia, September 18-20, 2008, will introduce to the
forest industry the first of three (3) new Volvo feller buncher models
that will hit the market in early 2009.
The new feller buncher equipment is further indication of the commitment
by Volvo Construction Equipment to provide the industry with leading-edge
forestry solutions and technology. Over the past several years, Volvo has
become a major manufacturer of forestry-based solutions for a variety of
applications.
There are three models in the new C-Series feller buncher product range -
the 37-ton, full swing radius Volvo FB3800C, the 30-ton short swing radius
Volvo FB2800C, and the 30-ton zero swing radius Volvo FBR2800C.
All three models can be configured to accommodate a feller buncher or
heavy-duty harvesting/processing head. They are equipped with Volvo
D9E Tier III-compliant engines, load-sensing hydraulics and Volvo Care
Cabs.
The Volvo FB3800C and Volvo FBR2800C will be shown to the industry
for the first time in live demonstrations at the trade exhibition in Halifax.
On-site demonstrations will also be provided by a Volvo FC2421C
harvester/processor, a Volvo L220F wheeled log loader, and a Volvo VHD
430 industrial truck and Manac log trailer.
Demo International 2008 is one of North America’s largest and most
unique outdoor equipment exhibitions. More than 100 manufacturers will
be located on a 3-kilometer loop in the forest for a three-day live exhibition of forestry equipment. Occurring only every four years, the 2008
show is the first time in the Maritime Provinces for DEMO International.
“Volvo has made a solid commitment to fully support the North American and global forest harvesting and forest bio-energy industries,”
said Mike Rhoda, President & CEO, Volvo Group Korea (Volvo Excavator Business Line). “Volvo has taken a leading role in providing the
industry with state-of-the-art and innovative equipment to meet the needs of this important market. The new feller buncher product line
validates our ongoing commitment to this industry and our customers.”
“We anticipate the introduction of the Volvo feller buncher line will be the forest industry’s most significant equipment announcement this
year,” said Ken Kelly, Customer Solutions Director, Forestry, Volvo Construction Equipment. “We extend an invitation to all forest industry
professionals to join us at DEMO International 2008 to learn more about these exciting solutions.”
