Right Side<br />

• Right front: check all items as done on left front.<br />

• Primary and secondary safety cab locks are<br />

engaged (if a cab-over-engine design).<br />

• Right fuel tank(s):<br />

— Securely mounted, and not damaged or<br />

leaking.<br />

— Fuel crossover line is secure.<br />

— Tank(s) contain enough fuel.<br />

— Cap(s) on and secure.<br />

Condition <strong>of</strong> Visible Parts<br />

• Rear <strong>of</strong> engine is not leaking.<br />

• Transmission is not leaking.<br />

• Exhaust system is secure, not leaking, and not<br />

touching wires, fuel, or air lines.<br />

• Frame and cross members have no bends or<br />

cracks.<br />

• Air lines and electrical wiring are secured<br />

against snagging, rubbing, and wearing.<br />

• Spare tire carrier or rack is not damaged, if<br />

so equipped.<br />

• Spare tire and/or wheel is securely mounted<br />

in rack.<br />

• Spare tire and wheel is adequate (proper size<br />

and properly inflated).<br />

Cargo Securement (Trucks)<br />

• Cargo is properly blocked, braced, tied,<br />

chained, etc.<br />

• Header board is adequate, secure (if required).<br />

• Side boards and stakes are strong enough,<br />

free <strong>of</strong> damage and properly set in place, if<br />

so equipped.<br />

• Canvas or tarp (if required) is properly secured<br />

to prevent tearing, billowing, or blocking <strong>of</strong><br />

mirrors.<br />

• If oversize, all required signs (flags, lamps,<br />

and reflectors) are safely and properly mounted<br />

and all required permits are in the driver’s<br />

possession.<br />

• Curbside cargo compartment doors are in good<br />

condition, securely closed, latched/locked, and<br />

required security seals are in place.<br />

Right Rear<br />

• Condition <strong>of</strong> the wheels and rims—no missing,<br />

bent, or broken spacers, studs, clamps, or lugs.<br />

• Condition <strong>of</strong> tires—properly inflated, valve<br />

stems and caps okay, and no serious cuts,<br />

bulges, or tread wear, tires are not rubbing<br />

each other, and nothing is stuck between them.<br />

• Tires same type (e.g., not mixed radial and<br />

bias types).<br />

• Tires are evenly matched (same sizes).<br />

• Wheel bearing/seals are not leaking.<br />

Suspension<br />

• Condition <strong>of</strong> the spring(s), spring hangers,<br />

shackles, and u-bolts.<br />

• Axle is secure.<br />

• Powered axle(s) are not leaking lube (gear oil).<br />

• Condition <strong>of</strong> the torque rod arms and bushings.<br />

• Condition <strong>of</strong> the shock absorber(s).<br />

• If retractable axle equipped, check the condition<br />

<strong>of</strong> the lift mechanism. If air powered, check<br />

for leaks.<br />

• Condition <strong>of</strong> the air ride components.<br />
