Invitation
Dear Colleagues,
Following the successful 1st PET/MR workshop in 2012 we agreed to start
an annual follow-up series of this educational event in Tübingen. Therefore,
we like to invite you to the 2nd workshop on PET/MR in Tübingen in spring
2013. This workshop will provide a platform to exchange experiences and
ideas among representatives from complementary imaging and clinical disciplines
as well as colleagues with extensive competence in PET/MR.
We have succeeded in securing patronage of the World Molecular Imaging
Society (WMIS), the European Society for Molecular Imaging (ESMI), the German
Societies of Nuclear Medicine (DGN) and Radiology (DRG). The proceedings
of this workshop will be published during a summit of the next World
Molecular Imaging Conference (WMIC) in 2013 in Savannah, Georgia, USA.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Tübingen to shape the
future of PET/MRI together.
• GRAND ROUNDS (Scientifi c Lectures)
to be given by designated experts who cover a spectrum of topics ranging
from imaging instrumentation, clinical protocols and translational research.
• TUTORIALS
to provide basic and advanced know-how to scientists / students in small,
interactive groups. Topics: MRI, PET, PET/CT, and PET/MR.
• DIALOGUE BOARDS PET/MR
to share experiences among clinicians and scientists with extensive competence
in the fi eld of PET/MR. Each session is divided in 2-3 short presentations
given by key experts and a subsequent discussion. Topics: fi rst results
from clinical trials - oncology, neurology, key applications, correction
methods, quantifi cation, evaluation > standardization?, PET/MR workfl ow
optimization. The discussions will be summarized in the plenary sessions
on the last day of the meeting.
• HANDS-ON
to observe and practice selected aspects of patient imaging using MRI,
PET/CT and PET/MRI by groups of clinicians/scientists who are new in
the fi eld of PET/MR. Clinical case review with experts. Extended in-depth
course on PET- and MRI-modeling.
• ROUND-TABLE DISCUSSIONS
to be held in a larger auditorium addressing various urgent needs. Each
round-table discussion will be opened by a brief impulse paper given
by key experts. Topics: reimbursement policies and costs, data-handling
and storage dynamic imaging, tracer development and tracer doses. The
discussions will be summarized in the plenary sessions on the last day of
the meeting.
• INDUSTRY FORUM
to highlight recent commercial development in the fi eld of hybrid imaging.
Program
Teaching lectures, dialogue boards, hands-on-training and round-table
discussions are organized in parallel sessions (attendees can sign in at
registration based on their interest). This helps to split the participants in
sub-groups with ideally not more than 15-20 people. The tutorials and
most of the hands-on sessions will be offered several times per week.
