Comments: The oldest know direct female ancestor of my mother's was Elizabeth
(Betsy) Burke. She was born in VA about 1790 and moved with her family to Cocke
Co. Tennessee about 1800. There is a possibility that several other families made
that move with the Burkes. They could have been the Pharris, Fraser/Frasure and
Mantooth/Monteith/Menteith families. The Fraser/Frasures and
Mantooth/Monteith/Menteith families were suppose to have had a large percentage
of American Indian blood that was acquired in VA. My Y-DNA Haplogroup is E3a
P1+. My male ancestor migrated from Lothringen (Lorraine, FR) where he was
born in 1820 to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1849. This family had absolutely no knowledge
of their African heritage, nor was there ever any indication in there background of
it existing. My DNAprint test showed 93% Indo-European, 7% East Asian, O%
Native American and 0% African. I'll let you figure that out, I can't.
