Comments: Caroline Johnson (?) is the oldest known ancestor on my mother's side.
She is the mother of Carrie Crawford Smith who was my great grandmother.
Carrie was a graduate of Fisk University of Nashville Tenn. in 1897. She was sent to
Fisk by Caroline and her husband, I believe his name was John. They were
probably abou 10 years old when slavery ended. They may have been part of the
Crawford family. Carrie married Edward Alexander Smith. Her dauther, Edna
married a man of mixed ancestry. My mother remembers him as a light skinned
man of African descent. Edna was my grandmother. No haplogroup has been
assigned to my DNA results.
