A one day workshop covering <strong>the</strong> techniques of painting<br />

watercolour flowers in Jan’s loose, flowing style. Her approach to<br />

watercolour is based on traditional techniques, but with a simple<br />

direct manner that produces clear, bright results. There will be<br />

an opportunity, if individual students require, to experiment with<br />

collage and gold leaf; materials will be provided for this part of <strong>the</strong><br />

day. Both beginners and more experienced students will be catered<br />

for.<br />

Botany for Botanical Artists<br />

Learn <strong>the</strong> essentials of botany specifically for artists with renowned<br />

tutor and author Liz Leech. This two day course will teach you to<br />

understand, observe and record <strong>the</strong> botanically significant features<br />

of plants in order to more accurately represent <strong>the</strong>m in your<br />

artwork. You will examine a broad range of plant material using<br />

microscopes and lenses to explore <strong>the</strong> features in detail. Annotated<br />

sketches and colour matches will <strong>the</strong>n be produced for your own<br />

future reference.<br />

using layering and blending techniques. Develop your creative<br />

skills through observation and practice with additional guidance<br />

on composition. This two day workshop is suitable for improvers or<br />

those who have completed <strong>the</strong> beginner’s workshop.<br />
