processing. Assistance in locating an off-post residence is available at the housing office located in Hardy Hall. All unaccompanied Staff Sergeants (SSG) and below are required to reside in single Soldier housing on-post. A Soldier in the rank of SSG and below must obtain a Statement of Non- Availability (SNA) prior to renting or purchasing a residence off-post. Request for SNA will be routed through Chain of Command to Brigade level prior to submission to the housing office. UTILITIES: Rates vary between $100 - $300 per month depending on the type of heat and air-conditioning. • ELECTRIC DEPOSIT ranges between $100.00 - $300.00 • GAS DEPOSIT is approximately $125.00 • OIL DEPOSIT is usually not required because most companies operate on a cash basis • TELEPHONE DEPOSIT is according to the application that is filled out approximately $100.00 • WATER DEPOSIT ranges from $15.00-100.00. There are a number of private water companies operating in the area. • CABLE - normally no deposit, payment in advance for service NOTE: The Utility Deposit Waiver Program is a combined effort of the Fort Bragg Command, the Housing Office and Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union to help Soldiers waive utility deposits by having the deposits guaranteed by the Credit Union. ELIGIBLE PATRONS: You must be active duty military at Fort Bragg and a member of the Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union. Membership must be maintained while you are participating in the Utility Waiver Program. You must sign up with the Utility Point of Contact (UPOC). Electric companies participating in the program are: PWC, Lumbee River, South River, and Central EMC. Once you are enrolled in the program, you must pay your utility bill in a timely manner or you may be terminated from the program and may have to pay the normal deposit to re-establish your service as required by the utility company.
