medieval foresters, which were adopted by the puritans. <strong>The</strong> new<br />

elite tended to imitate the look <strong>of</strong> the subservient classes.<br />

For certain purposes, for instance in sports, it is important not to<br />

deterioration continues, many <strong>of</strong> the medically treatable infectious<br />

diseases may have very serious consequences, according to prominent<br />

experts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> complicated rules <strong>of</strong> the European Union lead to a decrease in<br />

the variety <strong>of</strong> seeds available to household growers. Many previously<br />

available vegetable seeds are banned. Experts mean that the EU's<br />

arguments for the rules ensuring seed quality does not hold up. Old<br />

varieties <strong>of</strong> vegetables, traditionally grown in Sweden, which have<br />

not so far been banned and are not formally owned by anyone, run<br />

the risk <strong>of</strong> disappearing altogether. In Sweden, the ban includes<br />

mainly seeds <strong>of</strong> old vegetable varieties. 'Finnish Red' is a kale variety<br />

at least 100 years old, originally from Estonia. Red kale was common<br />
