Two reservists, identified by Jasmina Tarić as Slaviša
Petrović from Kosanica village, and the other also with
the last name Petrović, ransacked the house, tearing
apart the beds, moving furniture and lifting carpets.
Mirsada (married name Kubur) recounted:
We were very frightened while they searched the house.
One of the reservists came up to me and slapped me
hard a few times. I saw them beating my sister Jasmina
and that they wanted to rape her. They tried to separate
us. Another one came up to me, I thought he wanted to
rape me. The other one pulled him back and said something.
I was in shock and can’t remember all the details
now. But I did see when the cap of one of them fell on
the floor with two bullets in it. 95
Jasmina continued the story:
All the time they searched, I had the feeling they wanted
to rape us. One of them, Slaviša Petrović, started hitting
me on the head and pulling me but the other one
stopped him and took his rifle. I had bruises and cuts on
my head, face and arms. When the situation was very
tense, I heard someone shout,’Run!’ Us two sisters and
Slavko jumped out the window and ran away.
Jasmina and Mirsada spent the night with their uncle
Jusuf Duraković and joined their mother Hasnija in
Pljevlja the next day. They complained to the police
and were told the security situation was extremely
complex because of the war, and that it would be in
the best interests of their safety to tell no one about
what had happened. The police also promised to do
everything they could. Mirsada recounted that the
