Two-Day Tour Welcome to Mitrovica and Boletin Highlights COMMAG TRAVEL • Visit Mitrovica, one of the oldest known settlements in Kosovo • Experience Mitrovica’s emerging cultural scene - Meet local artists and sculptors - Visit the “Rexhep Mitrovica” Culture Center” and see the artist group 7 ARTS, known for its historical documentary films - Be entertained by the City Ensemble of Folkloric Music and Dance • Tour the village of Boletin and Castle of Isa Boletini, the patriot, military leader, pacifist visionary and who fought against the Ottomans • Discuss the challenges of living in a divided city with journalists from the north and south sides of Mitrovica Day One - Meet our tour leaders in front of the Grand Hotel Pristina and depart for the one-hour drive to the historical and cultural city of Mitrovica. Upon arriving in Mitrovica, walk across the Ibar River on the most beautiful bridge in Kosovo and check into the Hotel Palace. After breakfast at the hotel, begin your tour at the Mitrovica Museum and visit the site of an old Hamam (Turkish Bath). Stop for coffee at a café in the old city center (“Çarshia”) where you can meet and mingle with local artists, painters and sculptors. Enjoy lunch on the banks of the Ibër River at the “Restaurant Antika.” After lunch, you will visit the “Rexhep Mitrovica” Culture Center and see documentaries from recent movie festivals, including presentations by the artist group “7 Arts” known for its historical documentary films. Return to the Hotel Palace for dinner and a presentation by the City Ensemble of Folkloric Music and Dance.

Day Two - After breakfast at the Hotel Palace, checkout and drive to the old village of Boletin, where you will visit the castle of Isa Boletini, the patriot, military leader, and pacifist visionary who fought against the Ottomans. We then visit the Sokolica church and monastery on a peaceful hillside overlooking the village of Boletin. Enjoy a traditional lunch of fried fish (“krapi,” or carp) at the “Krapi Restaurant” with journalists from the southern and northern sides of Mitrovica who will discuss their experience living in a divided city. After lunch, depart for Pristina, returning mid-afternoon.
