JUNE ➤ In signing the Apprenticeship Charter, together with some one<br />
hundred other French companies, <strong>VINCI</strong> Chairman and CEO Antoine Zacharias<br />
made a commitment to increase the number of apprentices joining the Group’s<br />
subsidiaries by 20% over a two-year period.<br />
➤ Following an experimental phase, Eurovia applies its warm mix with<br />
Aspha-Min ® process on the Champs-Elysées in Paris and on many other<br />
projects worldwide (the process substantially cuts energy consumption and<br />
pollutant emissions by reducing coating temperature by 30°C).<br />
JULY ➤ Cofi route achieves record sales of 1,700 Liber-t motorway remote toll<br />
payment passes per week. During the summer, the 100,000 active badge mile-<br />
stone was exceeded, marking a 33% increase in one year.<br />
AUGUST ➤ <strong>VINCI</strong> Concessions acquires France Handling, the French leader in<br />
cargo handling services to airlines and freight forwarders. Expanding the WFS<br />
international network to some 60 cargo facilities, of which 27 are located in<br />
Europe, the move bolsters the company’s leading position in the sector worldwide.<br />
SEPTEMBER ➤ On 19 September, <strong>VINCI</strong> was included in the DJSI<br />
(Dow Jones Sustainability Index), which tracks the performance of the leading<br />
sustainability-driven companies worldwide.<br />
OCTOBER ➤ <strong>VINCI</strong> Construction wins the €135 million contract to build the<br />
launch pad and ground infrastructure for the Soyuz project in French Guiana.<br />
➤ <strong>VINCI</strong> Energies begins operations in Portugal with the acquisition of<br />
the Sotécnica company specialising in design, implementation and maintenance<br />
of technical facilities for industry, the service sector, airports and the energy<br />
infrastructure sector.<br />
NOVEMBER ➤ As part of the Talents des Cités competition organised by the<br />
French Senate and Ministry of Employment, Social Cohesion and Housing, in<br />
which <strong>VINCI</strong> is a partner, the <strong>VINCI</strong> Foundation for the Community recognised<br />
a national award winner, Mamadou Beye, who created the Paris-area<br />
Agence de Gestion de l’Intérim d’Insertion job-creating temporary employment agency.<br />
DECEMBER ➤ On 14 December, the French government announced its<br />
decision to sell its 50.4% interest in Autoroutes du Sud de la France to <strong>VINCI</strong>.<br />
With this acquisition, <strong>VINCI</strong> becomes the world’s leading integrated transport<br />
infrastructure concession-construction group and the European leader in<br />
transport infrastructure concessions.<br />
➤ On 19 December, <strong>VINCI</strong> and the Château de Versailles unveil the fi rst phase<br />
of the restored Hall of Mirrors for the press and the public. Under an innovative<br />
skills-based sponsorship operation, <strong>VINCI</strong> is funding the entire €12 million<br />
restoration and making available to the project the expertise of its companies<br />
specialising in the restoration of historic buildings.<br />
➤ <strong>VINCI</strong> Park wins the contract to manage 30,000 on-street parking spaces<br />
in Madrid, Spain.<br />
