Message from Formanda Meirelou...
till 1989 - Mestre Paulão Ceará trained and gave classes in the capoeira group “Grupo Senzala”.
1989 - He founded Grupo Capoeira Brasil together with Mestre Boneco and Mestre Paulinho Sabiá,
he continued with further development of capoeira from Fortaleza in Ceará - Brazil.
The group grew fast and became one of the style provision organizations in Brazil.
1993 - Mestre Paulão moved to Europe and gave his part in defining capoeira in Europe.
Mestre Paulão Ceará trained European students to become teachers, and also brought some of
his Brazilian students to Europe so they can give classes across Europe. Meanwhile, Grupo
Capoeira Brasil has schools in The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Poland,
Sweden and many more Countries. The Classes are given by students with the levels of
Graudado, Instrutor, Professor, Formando and formado/mestre. All under the supervision
of Mestre Paulão Ceará.
Since 1993 - Mestre Paulão has given countless workshops, TV-show appearances and
demonstrations across Europe and he gets invited to numerous Capoeira festivals, batizados
and other activities. Mestre Paulão also appeared in several DVDs and an instructional manual
of Grupo Capoeira Brasil.
I met Mestre Paulao in Brazil in 1999 during my first visit to Group Capoeira Brasil- Rio de Janeiro at
Mestre Boneco’s event.
His precision of techniques and knowledge always intrigued me and made me think that the trilogy
of our group was well balanced with 3 different Masters and lineage that complements each other
benefiting and empowering the group.
For the first time in Australia we will have the honour to have Mestre Paulao
do Ceara as a special guest of Mestre Peixe’s 10th Intensive Capoeira workshops.
Capoeiristas, you can not miss the opportunity!!!!!!!
Song of the Month...
* SOU CAPOEIRA - MESTRE SUASSUNA - CORDAO DE OURO
Sou capoeira olha eu sei que sou,
Eu vim aqui foi para jogar
Faco bonito so porque tenho talento
E solto meus movimentos com a voz no coracao
Que amor e esse, que trago no coracao
E uma alegria uma vontade de gingar
Sao Bento Grande, Iuna, Cavalaria
Quando toca me arrepia, hoje e dia de jogar!
E o cantador solta a voz pro povo ouvir
Berimbau viola arma a roda e marca o som
A Meia Lua e ligeira e corta o vento
Capoeira joga dentro como o Mestre me ensinou
Sou capoeira olha eu sei que sou,
Eu vim aqui foi para jogar
Faco bonito so porque tenho talento
E solto meus movimentos com a voz no coracao
E o capoeira e astuto e velhaco
E inimigo do perigo e confusao
Mas ele sabe o valor de uma vida
Por isso corre de briga e quer mais e vadiar
I am capoeira, look, I know I am,
I came here, it was to play
I do beautiful just because I have talent
I perform my movements with a voice in my heart
What love is this, that I bring in my heart
It is happiness, it’s a desire to gingar
Sao Bento Grande, Iuna, Cavalaria
When it plays it gives me goose pumps, today is the day to play day!
And the singer lets out their voice for everyone to hear
Berimbau viola form the “roda” marks the rhythm
The Meia Lua is fast and cuts the wind
The player plays close as the Master taught me
I am capoeira, look, I know that I am,
I came here, it was to play
I do beautiful just because I have talent
I perform my movements with a voice in my heart
And the player is astute and rascal
It’s enemy of danger and confusion
But he knows the valor of a life
Therefore he avoids fighting and wants to have fun

Dear students and parents!!
With the end of the year approaching, it is time to start to think about “ how can I work for my grading next year? “
As you know it is a lot to organise and would be much easier if we form committee and sub-commits that will
put together :
1) Design logo for the event: that will go on: banner, sponsor proposal, t-shirts, poster, flyers.
2) Organise a sponsor proposal.
3) Apply for Governmental and Council grants.
4) Find private sponsors: restaurants, hotel, cafes, airlines, donation...
5) T-shirt.
6) We can start to ask for donations of goods such as: vouchers
(for restaurants, clothes, specifics classes personal training, yoga,
Pilates, etc..., treatments massages, acupunctures, osteopathy, etc...,)
for the ruffles and Quiz night with prizes.
7) Donation of art: sculpture, paintings, photography, etc... for the Art Auction
8) Feijoada Night with life music and prizes.
9) Singing Competition with prizes.
Support from...
