Lake Arrowhead is privately owned by the Arrowhead
Lake Association (ALA) for the recreational use and
enjoyment of all its members, their families and their
guests. ALA owns and operates the lake, Burnt Mill and Tavern
Bay Beach Clubs, Marina Peninsula Park and Grass
Valley Lake. ALA also owns and maintains property around
the lake and maintains numerous accesses that allow property
owners access to the lake at specified areas.
The mission of the Arrowhead Lake Association is "to protect,
operate and improve Lake Arrowhead and ALA properties,
and to provide reasonable and safe recreational facilities
in a fiscally responsible manner, with appropriate
planning for the future." The members of the association elect
seven directors, who are charged with this mission.
All properties located within the boundary of Arrowhead
Woods (except Lakewood A & B) have lake rights, giving the
owners the right to use the lake for recreational purposes:
fishing, swimming, boating and using the reserve strip and
reserve strip addition for foot travel where designated. An
access map is available at the ALA office. Only property owners
who choose to be members of the association have access
to association-provided improvements.
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP
General membership fees help pay for routine maintenance
programs (weed removal, silt removal,
erosion control, trash removal), maintaining the
shoreline and more than 60 accesses and trails, stocking the
lake with fish, and the Fourth of July fireworks display.
The cost of a general membership is $60. Membership
cards are in effect from April 1 through March 31.
Beach club memberships give members access to both
Burnt Mill Beach Club and Tavern Bay Beach Club. A beach
club membership is $200.
PUTTING A BOAT ON THE LAKE
The current registration fee is $200 per boat with a
dock and $300 per boat without a dock. The minimum
length of a boat with a motor is 12 feet; the maximum
length is 26 feet. All boats under 12 feet with no motor,
which must stay within 100 of the shoreline, must
also be registered with the ALA. The fee for a small boatno
motor is $25.
To put a boat on Lake Arrowhead you must: own a property
within Arrowhead Woods; be a member of the ALA; own
the boat; carry $500,000 combined single limit liability and
ALA must be named as "additional insured"; provide proper
mooring, or day launch; and obtain a boat operator's license.

at the ALA office.
Windsurfing and jet skiing are not allowed on the lake.

ALA COMMITTEES
Members serve on a number of ALA committees
with the directors. Those committees include Forest
Planning, Shoreline Improvements, Finance,
Lake Activities and Safety, and Lake Operations and Maintenance.
Committees meet separately from the regular board meetings,
which in 2012 will be held on the fourth Saturday of
January, March, June, July, August, September and October;
the third Saturday of May; and the second Saturday of December.
