The <strong>Mountain</strong> Area Regional Transit Authority (MAR-<br />
TA) provides local and off-the-mountain bus service to<br />
the Big Bear Valley, Green Valley <strong>Lake</strong>, Running Springs,<br />
Blue Jay, <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Arrowhead</strong>, Crestline and San Bernardino.<br />
Dial-A-Ride Service<br />
Dial-a-Ride (DAR) service is a shared ride system. DAR<br />
passengers may be picked up or dropped off while a vehicle<br />
is en route to another passenger pick-up. Passengers should<br />
always allow at least 30 minutes to reach their destination.<br />
When DAR passengers call for service, they provide their<br />
name, pickup location, number of riders, destination and a<br />
call-back phone number. If a pickup location is difficult to access,<br />
if the passenger requires assistance, or if the passenger<br />
must be at his or her destination at a specific time, he or<br />
she must advise the dispatcher. Reservations should be made<br />
24 hours in advance.<br />

Off-The-<strong>Mountain</strong> Service<br />
Off-the-mountain service is a commuter service, providing<br />
service down the hill to San Bernardino and back up with connections<br />
to the Metrolink and Greyhound stations. The bus<br />
runs Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturdays 9<br />
a.m. to 4 p.m. A park-and-ride lot is available in Crestline.<br />
Riders should flag down driver when waiting there.<br />
Fixed Route Service<br />
MARTA’s fixed-route service stops at designated bus stops.<br />
Connecting routes run from Cedarpines Park and Running<br />
Springs to <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Arrowhead</strong> Village. There is no weekend service<br />
on <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Arrowhead</strong>/Crestline routes.<br />
