School so they can graduate. The school is located in the former<br />

<strong>Lake</strong> Gregory Elementary School; this campus is the headquarters<br />

for all the district’s alternative education programs,<br />

including independent study and the young parent<br />

program. The <strong>Mountain</strong> High School student population is<br />

approximately 125.<br />

Alpine Adult School, located on the same campus, serves<br />

approximately 120 students 18 and older. The free program<br />

allows students to receive a high school diploma, prepare for<br />

the GED exam or brush up on basic skills.<br />

Putnam Henck Intermediate School opened<br />

its doors in 1970 and remains the only<br />

intermediate school for students within the school district’s<br />

boundaries, from Crestline to Green Valley <strong>Lake</strong>.<br />

The school hosts a student population of over 960 students.<br />

students, Grandview Elementary is an integral<br />

part of the Twin Peaks community.<br />

In 2001 Grandview was recognized as a<br />

California Distinguished School by the State of California.<br />

This designation must be earned by a school through the state’s<br />

Department of Education, which considers many facets of the<br />

school including state and federal test scores.<br />

We at Calvary Chapel Christian School desire to make<br />

disciples of Jesus Christ by encouraging our students to effectively<br />

integrate the Biblical truth into their daily lives, seek<br />

academic excellence and become a Godly influence in<br />

the world.<br />

We started with 12 students in 2006-2007 and grew to<br />

19 by the end of the year. Entering the 2011-<strong>2012</strong> school<br />

year, we have over 22 students from kindergarten through<br />

grade 12. Our curriculum consists of A’Beka and Accelerated<br />

Christian Education. In 2011 we became accredited<br />

through ACTS.<br />

Founded in 1978, the <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Arrowhead</strong> Christian School<br />

is a Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)<br />

accredited school and has a current enrollment of 115 students<br />

in grades kindergarten through 12.<br />

The school’s stated mission is to provide a quality Christian<br />

education to prepare its students spiritually and academically<br />

to influence the world for Christ.<br />

Students participate in many activities including Math<br />

Olympics, speech meets, art competitions, science camps and<br />

educational field trips. The high school sports program has<br />

made the CIF playoffs.<br />
