ABC President
Building industry professionals make
up the membership of the San
Bernardino Mountains’ Association
of Building Contractors (ABC). The members
are dedicated to providing outstanding
craftsmanship to mountain community
residents.
ABC members subscribe to a code of
ethics. They pledge to uphold the highest
standards of honesty, integrity and responsibility
in their business dealings.
ABC is a California nonprofit corporation. Its
purpose is to promote goodwill and cooperation between its members,
governmental agencies and the community. A board of directors whose
members span the building trades governs ABC. The directors have many
years of professional experience between them.
Association members cover a wide range of trade specialties.
ABC’s website has a contractor finder that mountain residents and
visitors can use to locate quickly a building industry professional to
meet their needs. Builders can also be found on ABC’s website by
browsing through the entire list of available contractors.
ABC members are committed to protecting the investment of
each homeowner or business by delivering the highest quality

work and insuring clients against unforeseen problems.
Unlicensed contractors cannot legally perform jobs costing
more than $500. ABC recommends homeowners
and businesses contact the California Contractors State
License Board at www.cslb.ca.gov to verify a contractor’s license.
ABC engages in a wide variety of activities. They include lobbying
contractors’ views to county, state and federal governments and
the San Bernardino County Department of Building and Safety.
ABC also reports changes in county codes and regulations to its membership
via its monthly newsletter and website.
ABC promotes the use of licensed contractors, especially its
members, through its annual directory, newsletter, website and
print advertising. It also supports the California Contractors State
License Board in its efforts to prosecute unlicensed contractors.
The organization also encourages cooperation between members
of the association with informative monthly dinner meetings
and other social functions, as is its strong support for community
organizations like Rebuilding Together, which stages its annual
Christmas In April Rebuilding Day on the last Saturday of
April each year.
Because of ABC members' generous commitments of talent, skill
and professionalism, Rebuilding Together can continue providing
warmer, safer and more independent living conditions for deserving
elderly and disabled homeowners in our mountain communities.
For the past 16 years, ABC and the Lake Arrowhead Communities
Chamber of Commerce have staged the Mountain Home
Improvement EXPO featuring remodeling, repair and rebuilding
exhibits. The summer event is held at Lake Arrowhead Village.
