BUS 106 Credit by assessment 3-12<br />

During the completion of BUS 1010, students will submit the<br />

petition through Credit By Assessment process and can earn up to<br />

12 units through assessment of prior learning experi ences, such as<br />

corporate training; professional workshops, seminars, and<br />

conferences; licensure or certification; independent scholarship; and<br />

appropriately supervised volunteer training. Students can only<br />

petition for credit if they are enrolled or completed the BUS 1010<br />

class.<br />

BUS 3000 financial accounting 4<br />

This course covers the fundamentals of financial accounting, as well<br />

as the identification and reporting of the financial effect of economic<br />

events on the enterprise. Financial information is also examined<br />

from the perspective of effective management decision making with<br />

emphasis on the planning and controlling responsibilities of<br />

management of the enterprise.<br />

BUS 3010 Microeconomics 3<br />

<strong>Business</strong> decision making within the firm in a variety of market<br />

situations. Topics include supply and demand forces, consumer<br />

behavior, theories of cost and production, pricing, concepts of<br />

marginal analysis, and antitrust laws.<br />

BUS 3015 Macroeconomics 3<br />

Examines national income measurement and accounting includ ing<br />

determination of total national output, employment, prices, and the<br />

causes of inflation and deflation. Focus is also on money and the<br />

monetary system including the effect of monetary policy,<br />

government spending and taxation policies, and fiscal policy.<br />

Prerequisite: BUS 3010.<br />

BUS 3020 <strong>Business</strong> finance 4<br />

This is an introductory course in the principles and objectives of<br />

corporate finance. For those students who will not be taking<br />

additional finance courses, it will provide a comprehensive overview<br />

of how financial decisions are made in the business world and the<br />

considerations that are involved in making these decisions. For<br />

those students who will be continuing their study of corporate<br />

finance, it will serve as a foundation course for future learning. The<br />

course examines the Time value of Money; Analysis of Financial<br />

Statements Financial Markets and Interest Rates; Bond, Common<br />

Stock and Preferred Stock; Capital Budgeting and Cost of Capital<br />

Structure; Working Capital Management and Multinational<br />

Financial Issues. Prereq uisite: BUS 3000.<br />

BUS 3030 <strong>Business</strong> law 4<br />

This course provides students with the basic principles of law that<br />

are applicable to business transactions and the legal system. Topics<br />

include the legal and social forces that shape our govern ment and<br />

business society. In addition, this course examines, analyzes, and<br />

applies the nature, formation, and system of law to the modern<br />

business environment.<br />

BUS 3032 essentials of human resource<br />

Management 4<br />

From a talent management and multicultural workforce perspective,<br />

this course critically examines the fundamental principles of human<br />

resource management for the contemporary organization, focusing<br />

on the building, manage ment, and development of an organization’s<br />

workforce. It discusses various approaches to managing,<br />

empowering, and motivating employees, as well as evaluating<br />

employee performance. It also discusses the role of the human<br />

resource department regarding job analysis, recruitment, retention,<br />

and training.<br />
