Topics vary according to need and interest. This course may be<br />

a&C 4981 Bfa final Project 2<br />

An assessment of learning for the BFA program. A written project,<br />

final review, and participation in the annual BFA graduation<br />

exhibition will all be required parts of the BFA final project.<br />

Following similar procedures to the review in MA and MFA<br />

programs, this process will be condensed into a single quarter and<br />

will involve a different standard for the written project and will<br />

involve a group exhibition rather than a solo show. A review<br />

committee of four faculty will review and assess each candidate for<br />

graduation from the BFA program ensuring the program’s standards<br />

for learning have been achieved.<br />

<strong>Business</strong> administration [BUS ] Courses<br />

BUS 1000 Prior learning experience and Portfolio<br />

development i 3<br />

Many students at JFKU have returned to college with a wealth of<br />

experience in many areas of their lives. often these experiences can<br />

be examined for academic credit. Through a series of steps,<br />

beginning with an evaluation of your experiences, and using Kolb’s<br />

Experiential Model the student will develop; documentation of the<br />

learning can be submitted for a request for academic credit. The<br />

process is called Credit by Assessment or Prior Learning<br />

Assessment. In order to register for this course, you must meet with<br />

your advisor to discuss the rational for your pursuit of CBA credit.<br />

This course will prepare the students to submit a Portfolio to the<br />

evaluators for review and a request for units, the maximum number<br />

of units in any one-competency area is six units.<br />

The course introduces Kolb’s Learning Model that will be the<br />

foundation of the Prior Learning Essays. The student must<br />

demonstrate writing standards acceptable at the college level, with<br />

content at either the upper or lower division level. The instructor<br />

will work with each student to ensure that the portfolio meets the<br />

requirements for quality and completeness; all required sections are<br />

completed, with sample syllabi for professional coursework,<br />

documentation for each prior learning experience and correct<br />

petition for credit.<br />

BUS 100 Credit by assessment 3-12<br />

During the completion of BUS 1000, students will submit the<br />

petition through Credit By Assessment process and can earn up to<br />

12 units through assessment of prior learning experi ences, such as<br />

corporate training; professional workshops, seminars, and<br />

conferences; licensure or certification; independent scholarship; and<br />

appropriately supervised volunteer training. Students can only<br />

petition for credit if they are enrolled or completed the BUS 1000<br />

class.<br />

BUS 1010-Prior learning experience and Portfolio<br />

development i 3<br />

This course is a follow up to the BUS 1000 if a student wants to<br />

continue to work on submitting requests for credit for prior learning<br />

experiences. This course builds on BUS 1000 and continues with<br />

using Kolb’s Experiential Model.. In order to register for this course,<br />

you must meet with your advisor to discuss the rational for your<br />
