Integral Theory<br />
Over the last decade, <strong>John</strong> F. <strong>Kennedy</strong> <strong>University</strong> has established<br />
itself as the world’s premier university for the study and exploration<br />
of the integral model. Pioneered by Ken Wilber, the integral model<br />
is a unifying and comprehensive framework that resonates with<br />
people seeking more integrative ways to understand and respond<br />
to the complexity of today’s world.<br />
In partnership with the Integral Institute, JFK <strong>University</strong>:<br />
• Hosts the international biennial Integral Theory Conference;<br />
• Operates the Integral research Center; and<br />
• Offers the only accredited online Certificate and Master of Arts<br />
in Integral Theory.<br />
Ma in integral Theory<br />
Offered in partnership with Integral Institute, the online Master of<br />
Arts in Integral Theory at <strong>John</strong> F. <strong>Kennedy</strong> <strong>University</strong> is the most<br />
rigorous and complete training available in the integral model. This<br />
68-unit online program is designed to educate the next generation<br />
of integrally informed scholar-practitioners to skill fully apply the<br />
integral approach to real-world challenges in a variety of fields. The<br />
online program will include students from around the globe and<br />
will form the heart of the world’s first integral theory<br />
learning community.<br />

The courses, taught by leading integral scholar-practitioners,<br />
deliver a practical and theoretical foundation in all aspects of the<br />
integral model. Students also gain access to the world’s most<br />
extensive integral knowledge library, including subscriptions to<br />
AQAL Journal, Integral Life.com, and the Integral Institute.org.<br />
The curriculum interweaves experiential learning, perspective<br />
taking, academic inquiry, integral research, and professional<br />
application. Transformational self-inquiry and intellectually<br />
rigorous scholarship are emphasized within a highly supportive<br />
student community. A sense of community is fostered by weekly<br />
online and telephone contact in addition to two residential<br />
intensives per year.<br />
Program learning outcomes<br />
• Graduates will be able to communicate to/with/as the value<br />
schemas generated by traditional, modern, and postmodern<br />
levels of the values/worldview line.<br />
• Graduates will be able to take/write-from first-person,<br />
second-person, and third-person perspectives as differentiated<br />
phenomena available to all humans.<br />
• Graduates will be able to use/employ multiple methodologies as<br />
defined by the quadrants and zones of Integral Theory.<br />
• Graduates will be able to apply the five elements of Integral<br />
Theory: quadrants, levels, lines, states, and types.<br />
• Graduates will be able to successfully engage in an ongoing<br />
Integral Life Practice as defined by Integral Theory.<br />
admission requirements<br />
Enrollment is available to students who have an undergraduate<br />
degree from an accredited institution. In addition to satisfying the<br />
entrance standards of JFKU, admission requires the following:<br />
• A writing sample (five to ten pages, double-spaced).<br />
• Two letters of recommendation.<br />
• A five- to ten-page, double-spaced personal statement that<br />
discusses one’s use of integral principles in life.<br />
• The application deadline is July 1. Applications received after<br />
the deadline will be considered on a space-available basis.<br />
International applicants whose native language is not English must<br />
comply with JFKU standards. requirements relating to the Foreign<br />
Student Financial Statement and immigration status will not be<br />
applicable as students will not be in residence in the U.S. If foreign<br />
students decide to attend the annual face-to-face gatherings, they<br />
will be responsible for obtaining visas and making their own travel<br />
arrangements.<br />
Note: The certificate in Integral Theory serves as the first year of the<br />
master’s program.<br />
