shots, including two each by Hendrickson, Buechner and Meghan Schmidt.<br />

Bird led <strong>UW</strong>-Stout with 13 points, eleven coming in the first half. Lindsey Geissler and Julia<br />

Hirssig added 11 and 10, respectively. Bird also led the Blue Devils with four assists, and Hirssig<br />

tied for the team lead with six rebounds.<br />

<strong>UW</strong>-W is 15-1 overall and 6-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. <strong>UW</strong>-Stout is<br />

10-6 overall and 4-3 in league play.<br />

<strong>Whitewater</strong> will play at <strong>UW</strong>-Platteville Wednesday. The next home game for the Warhawks will be<br />

Saturday, February 2 at 3:00, with <strong>UW</strong>-Eau Claire visiting Kachel Gym in Williams Center.<br />

#3 Warhawks Up to 16-1 with 85-63 Win at Platteville<br />

<strong>UW</strong>-<strong>Whitewater</strong>, ranked third in the D3hoops.com national poll, defeated <strong>UW</strong>-Platteville 85-63 at<br />

Bo Ryan Court in Platteville Wednesday evening.<br />

Platteville's last lead was 4-3 with 18:21 left in the first half. The Warhawks led 25-10 at 9:44 on<br />

a three-point play by junior center Tiffany Morton, but Platteville scored the final six points of the<br />

half to make it 37-31 <strong>Whitewater</strong> at the intermission.<br />

The Pioneers scored the first two baskets of the second half to pull within 37-35. <strong>Whitewater</strong><br />

responded with a 17-3 burst, making it 54-38 at 12:52. The Warhawks added on from there to<br />

build a thirty point margin twice, at 5:04 and with 3:47 remaining.<br />

Morton and sophomore forward Nicole Bundy led the Warhawks with 16 points apiece, with<br />

sophomore guard Kelsey Hendrickson adding 14. Morton scored fourteen of her points in the frist<br />

half. Senior center Lindsey Buechner led the Warhawks with four assists. Junior guard Lisa<br />

Wubben scored sixteen for the Pioneers, eleven coming in the second half. Vanessa Nemitz, a<br />

sophomore guard, scored ten in the second half, thirteen overall.<br />

<strong>Whitewater</strong> out-rebounded the Pioneers 42-30, and limited <strong>UW</strong>-P to 36% shooting from the field.<br />

<strong>UW</strong>-<strong>Whitewater</strong> is 16-1 overall and 7-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.<br />

Eleven of <strong>Whitewater</strong>'s sixteen wins have been by twenty or more points. <strong>UW</strong>-Platteville, which<br />

has lost three of its last four games, is 9-8 overall and 3-5 in league play.<br />

<strong>UW</strong>-W will travel to <strong>UW</strong>-Superior Saturday for a 3:00 start. The next home game for the<br />

Warhawks will be Saturday, February 2 when they host <strong>UW</strong>-Eau Claire in Kachel Gym of<br />

Williams Center.<br />

#3 Warhawks Go to 17-1 with Win at Superior<br />

<strong>UW</strong>-W, the highest scoring team in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and number<br />

three in Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, cracked the 90 point barrier for<br />

the seventh time this season with a 92-41 win over <strong>UW</strong>-Superior at Gates Gym in Superior,<br />

Wisconsin Saturday afternoon.<br />

The teams traded baskets to open the game, but <strong>UW</strong>-W left no doubts with a 19-2 run to go up<br />

21-2 with 14:13 left in the first half. <strong>Whitewater</strong> bumped up the lead again, this time with a 23-2<br />

run to make it 47-8 at 7:04. The Warhawks went in to the locker room leading 61-17.<br />

<strong>Whitewater</strong> shot 58% from the floor in the game; <strong>UW</strong>-Superior hit 30% of their shots. The<br />

Warhawks' defense also forced 30 Yellowjacket turnovers.<br />

<strong>UW</strong>-W equaled its season high with five players in double figures; with sophomore forward Nicole<br />

Bundy leading the way with 13. Sophomore center Dana Thompson scored 12, and senior center<br />
