Both BWT Group and the parent
company BWT AG enter the year
2000 with considerably improved
order books. At the balance sheet
date, the value at group level amounted
to € 72 million, representing
an increase of 27.4% compared
with the previous year. The main
reason for this gratifying development
is Aqua Engineering GmbH,
located in Mondsee, which, amongst
others, holds a leading market
position in the planning and execution
of municipal drinking and
waste water treatment plant in
China. Just under 5% of the
increase in the order backlog stem
from the first-time consolidation of
the Van der Molen Group.
BWT AG and its branch office in
Braunau, responsible for
Engineering and assembly of
municipal adventure swimming
pools and drinking water treatment
plant, was able to reverse
the downward trend of the year
Following the significant earnings
growth of the year 1998, during
which operating profits rose by
45.3% and earnings from ordinary
activities by 17.8%, the earnings
development of BWT Group during
the business year was influenced
by extraordinary depreciation
charges and losses from the participation
in the Swiss Christ Group.
Operating profit was lower as a
result of a special depreciation
charge on the consolidation equalisation
position of Lösch Filter
GmbH in an amount of € 1.6 million,
reducing it from € 20.2 million
as well as first-time consolidation.
