and funded as prescribed in subpar. (c).<br />

(c) Other Naval Activities. In situations of assignment,<br />

reassignment, or termination of assignment to Government<br />

quarters administered by the Department of the Navy (other<br />

than those in subpar. (b)), the costs of handling incident to the<br />

local moves will be funded from the operating budget of the<br />

activity administering the housing funds. In situations of<br />

reassignment between housing units whose funds are<br />

administered by different naval activities, handling costs will<br />

be chargeable to the operating budget of the recipient activity,<br />

i.e., the activity administering the funds of the housing unit to<br />

which the individual is reassigned.<br />

(d) Housing Administered by Other Military Departments. In<br />

situations of assignment, reassignment, or termination of<br />

assignment in which only quarters administered by the other<br />

military departments are involved, the costs associated with<br />

local moves, including the non-temporary storage of household<br />

goods should be charged to the operating funds of the<br />

organization making the quarters assignment, regardless of the<br />

member's military service. The organization that controls the<br />

assignment of quarters must be responsible for funding such<br />

moves regardless of the Service affiliation of the individuals<br />

being assigned.<br />

(e) Local Moves Involving Non-Government Quarters. Under<br />

circumstances where a principal (assigned to either shore or<br />

afloat duty) requires a local move between non-Government<br />

quarters (including rental guarantee and leased housing) and is<br />

entitled to have such a move funded by the Department of the<br />

Navy, such costs will be funded, in descending order of<br />

applicability, from the following activity operating resources:<br />

1. public works center or lead activity as specified in<br />

subpar. (b);<br />

2. nearest shore activity within commuting distance which<br />

administers Defense Family Housing resources;<br />

3. shore activity which normally provides local<br />

Department of the Navy morale/welfare/recreation support<br />

for the principal;<br />

4. shore activity to which the principal is administratively<br />

attached, or<br />

5. fleet command to which the principal is assigned.<br />
