PORTION<br />

1. SCOPE.<br />

The scope, structure, and content of the Marine Corps portion of the<br />

Retired Pay, Defense, appropriation is the same as that described in par.<br />

074720-1 and 2.<br />

2. ADMINISTRATION.<br />

The apportionment request for the Marine Corps portion of Retired Pay,<br />

Defense, is prepared by the Fiscal Management Division of the Marine<br />

Corps. Upon receipt of the Program/Fund Allocations (NAVCOMPT<br />

Form 2058) allocating funds to the Marine Corps, the Fiscal Director of<br />

the Marine Corps advises the Commanding Officer of the Defense Finance<br />

and Accounting Service of the amount of the allocation received and<br />

authorized payment against the Retired Pay appropriation. The<br />

administrative control of the appropriation regulations is retained by the<br />

Fiscal Director of the Marine Corps.<br />

074723 WILDLIFE CONSERVATION, MILITARY<br />

RESERVATIONS, NAVY<br />

1. SCOPE.<br />

Under provisions of 16 U.S. Code 670a, the Secretary of Defense is<br />

authorized to promote effectual planning, development, maintenance, and<br />

coordination of wildlife, fish, and game conservation in military<br />

reservations in accordance with a cooperative plan or agreement mutually<br />

agreed upon by the local representatives of the Secretary of Defense, the<br />

Fish and Wildlife Service of the Department of the Interior, and the<br />

appropriate State Conservation Agency. If agreeable to the signatories of<br />

the cooperative plan, the Navy or Marine Corps installation may issue<br />

special permits to individuals for hunting and fishing privileges and collect<br />

a nominal fee therefore. Proceeds from the sale of hunting and fishing<br />

permits are to be used to carry out a program of development,<br />

conservation, and enhancement of fish and wildlife on the installation<br />

where collected and for no other purpose.<br />

2. STRUCTURE AND CONTENT.<br />

The budget activity Conservation of Game provides for the costs of<br />

planning, development, maintenance, and coordination of wildlife, fish,<br />

and game conservation, and rehabilitation in military reservations. Funds<br />

under this budget activity are generated from the sale of fishing and<br />

hunting permits at individual installations having cooperative agreements.<br />

Each year obligational authority is requested in order to cover the<br />
