and special shore activities with equipment used for detection, tracking,<br />

localization, and classification of submarines; equipment which will<br />

provide the fleet the capability of deceiving, intercepting, and analyzing<br />

airborne, electromagnetic and underwater radiation; the procurement of<br />

communications equipment for active fleet ships, worldwide shore<br />

facilities; and electronics equipment for fleet support, and continental<br />

shore and harbor defense activities, including cryptographic and<br />

cryptologic aids and devices for the Navy and Marine Corps. This budget<br />

activity is coordinated by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems<br />

Command.<br />

4. BUDGET ACTIVITY 3, AVIATION SUPPORT EQUIPMENT.<br />

Budget Activity 3 provides funds for the procurement of air-launched<br />

antisubmarine (ASW) detection, sonobuoys and other general support<br />

equipment associated with aircraft systems. Other support equipment<br />

includes ground electronics equipment, aircraft launch and recovery<br />

equipment, photographic equipment, reconnaissance and electronic<br />

warfare processing and analysis equipment, and miscellaneous other<br />

categories of equipment. This budget activity is coordinated by the Naval<br />

Air Systems Command.<br />

5. BUDGET ACTIVITY 4, ORDNANCE SUPPORT EQUIPMENT.<br />

Budget Activity 4 provides funds for the procurement of gun, missile, and<br />

ASW fire control and support equipment, mine components, FBM support<br />

equipment, and support for other expendable ordnance. This budget<br />

activity is coordinated by the Naval Sea Systems Command.<br />

6. BUDGET ACTIVITY 5, CIVIL ENGINEERING SUPPORT EQUIPMENT.<br />

Budget Activity 5 provides funds for the procurement of passengercarrying<br />

vehicles, ambulances, truck, trailers, construction, earth moving,<br />

fire fighting, weight-handling, amphibious and specialized construction<br />

battalion equipment, telephone equipment, mobile utilities support<br />

equipment, fleet moorings, public works equipment, ocean construction<br />

equipment, and pollution control, occupational safety and health<br />

equipment. Also included is collateral equipment related to a military<br />

construction project not elsewhere provided. This budget activity is<br />

coordinated by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command.<br />

7. BUDGET ACTIVITY 6, SUPPLY SUPPORT EQUIPMENT.<br />

Budget Activity 6 provides funds for the procurement of forklift trucks<br />

and other materials-handling equipment used afloat and at non-NWCF<br />

shore activities. Also funded is the purchase of high-speed copiers and<br />

printing equipment; office automation equipment and the procurement of<br />

Automated-Teller-Machines (ATMs) installed aboard Navy ships. In<br />

addition, this budget activity finances first destination transportation. This<br />

budget activity is coordinated by the Naval Supply Systems Command.<br />
